How You Are In Love

You take a while to fall in love with someone. Trust takes time.

You give and take equally in relationships.

You need your space and privacy. You don't like to be smothered.

You love your partner unconditionally and don't try to make them change.

You stay in love for a long time, even if you aren't loved back. When you fall, you fall hard.

Vera's Very Simple "Are You A Psycho?" Test

View the image below...

If you giggled, you could be a psycho.
If you laughed, you probably are a psycho.
If you pissed yourself while laughing and tried to find an order form, you are most definitely a psycho.
If you already have one, we should be friends.

Needs/Wants

Mmmk... Kev told me to do this: Type your name into google "YourName Needs" and see what it is that google thinks you need. Do the same for "YourName Wants"... Here's a few of mine...

Vera Needs...

But
Vera needs sugar. [Mmmm, sugar… *drool*]

Whether it posseeses meaning or not (it does),
Vera needs no justification. [Works for me!]

Aloe
vera needs dry and arid conditions so it's best grown in a pot where control
over the conditions can be achieved. [I was waiting for the ALOE VERA comment.]

Since
Vera needs a reliable car, she asks her bank about auto loan rates. [Blergh! I don’t need a reliable car! I need something Cute™ and unreliable -- no applications, please.]

Vera needs to know about her fan club on here!! [I removed my comments section for the sole purpose of NOT knowing about them!]

After installation, VERA needs to be calibrated so that the visual acuity test characters it displays are sized appropriately. [Whut? Oh yah. RTFM!]

What Vera needs to help her with the phlegm is warm, moist air. [Mmmm, phlegm… *drool*]

Vera needs
oxygen to operate, a big bone of contention among some purists because a normal gun would fire in vacuum. [*grabs the big Blue Elephant Gun™*]

Vera needs a psychiatrist ...and a lobotomy. [Never truer words have been googled!]

Vera Wants...

Vera wants
the land across from the old orphanage, where The Reverend and his wife made a home for the children. [Evil™ and Greedy™ Vera lives!]

Vera wants to know what that was like staying over with grandma around. [My grammy ruled!]

Vera wants
nothing so much as to support the frightened, the dismayed and the impoverished who seek her help. [I don’t think they were talking about me, here.]

God Wants You to Change Your Lifestyle! Rev. Vera. [Sorry, follower of goRd. Take a number and get in line but play nice with the Jehovah Witnesses and Odinists!]

Vera wants nothing to do with Ruthie. [Damn Ruthie! She's so pushy.]

Vera
wants
Martie back in her life. [Who da fook is Martie?]

Vera wants
to make a point. [I usually have one, but my brain tends to bury it among the flakes.]

"Vera, the Vamp"
Vera wants Belle to teach her how to be attractive to men. [O'Belle Wan Kanobi, you're my only hope.]

Vera wants
him out of desperate passion. [Erm, ok this is might be true.]

Vera wants
a nickel so that she can call her mother. [Did you know it is 35¢ to make a phone call from a payphone nowadays? That's just robbery.]

Zoe's Burfday

today my pitbull X has turned 4 years old...
she's an absolute HAM of a dog!
always up to mischevious things with this excitable glow that surrounds her.
you look into her eyes and you just know... this is the first time she has been around this world and is seeing everything with fresh eyes...
she's a goofball
a cuddle monster
a spot-stealer/warmer
and a bluddy riot to have around...
Huppy Burfday Buglet!!

catch-phase

so last night wasn't drama. can you spell relief? things went quite alright. it was good to see former workmates. and hostess ALWAYS has fabulous food!! fancy schmancy pancy cheeses, dips, gourmet crackers, caramelized salmon... Oy! chicken wings! so the boyfriend didn't say anything, which was the relief right... and aforementioned current workmate was mentioned but ONCE and forcibly as they were curious as to who was a source of some particular information that i had... no rollings occured, in fact it was overall: SUCCESS.
we played this game called 'catch-phrase'... there is this handheld electronic device where you push doo-dads and words pop-up and you have to get your mates to say the word w/o actually saying the word or "sounds like..." or "starts with..." etc... now, overall there are simple words... such as husband, alive, sempre fi, scimitar ;) but what really stunned me was the lack of geographical knowledge these friends had. if i were to mention "the baltic states"; "lithuania & estonia" what would your first thought be??? YES OF COURSE!... LATVIA!! thankyouverymuch. not saying my friends are dumb. just... accountants. thank goRd for a liberal arts education! i feel more well-rounded. and that's not just b/c im fat either...

a small INTIMATE gathering

tonight i have a gathering with former workmates. all have gone their separate ways and are at other companies right now. we've all been friends for a few years at least. thing is... there is awkwardness. one of the former workmates has been intimate with a current workmate of mine (who is not coming to the gathering and who is a good friend of mine as well)... the former workmate is bringing her live-in with her, whom she cheated on at the same time the current workmate was in an almost-separation (now separated) from his wife... awkwardness will ensue b/c this all happened to begin @ a bbq that i had this past summer. now the former workmate's boyfriend might have some words or at least "i hate you, die bitch" glances for me... i dont feel at fault at all in this whole situation... these friends of mine (now-not-friends-with-each-other) are both adults and made adult decisions when i provided them both with means of not carrying their mild flirtations to the next level (i also dont judge either for their actions, as i said, they are both adults)... however, i do feel that the boyfriend might have another opinion... im a rather forthright person and will speak my mind when and where i need to in order to defend myself... i would never want to cause any issues @ the hostess' home, of course... NOR make an ass of myself while doing it... the question is, if he does provoke me in the typical-uneducated-passive-aggressive way most uneducated passive aggressive people provoke others... do i kick his ass then or wait until i toss him out into the cold?

if you dont hear from me in the next week or so... things went awry and please send bail money...

Greedmas(tm)

blog... BLOG? blog, you say? wtf.
what could i possibly blog about.

then it comes to me. in a flash of red & green. Greedmas(tm) shopping.

what annoys the living fuck out of me are the people that are just out there to spend the money on friends and family but not give any thought into whatever they have chosen to buy. they claw and bite for the last gift basket of super-smelly bath bubble or 10,000 year old fruit cake!!! (on a side note, i'm quite positive the first and ONLY fruitcake to have ever been made dates back approximately 10,000 years and has been floating around ever since; mulitplying and reproducing in its evil fashion and from henceforth shall be known as EvilFruitCake(tm))

trust me, i'm not a greedy person. i would rather have people buy themselves something nice and not even concern themselves with getting me anything. usually, if i see something i want, i'll just pick it up. which, i guess makes me the difficult person on the shopping list. i just dont like the MASS consumerism of the Season(tm). not to say we aren't bombarded daily with blatant and not so blatant suggestions to purchas items. Greedmas(tm) just seems to bring out the animal that is also known as The Greedmas Shopper.

The Greedmas Shopper (n.) Th-uh G-rrrrr-EEEE-d-MUS SH-hop-herrrr

The Greedmas Shopper can be spotted in any and all aisle of any and all stores. Bogged down with gifts aplenty, The Greedmas Shopper usually resembles a Sherpa. Poised @ the cash counter with credit cards in hand, The Greedmas Shopper can be found maxing out Mastercards and Visas alike. Armed with sharpened elbows, claws and often disguised as helpless old ladies, The Greedmas Shopper will pass up no opportunity to hip-check, tackle or beat you to a bluddy pulp of a human in order to make that purchase. The Greedmas Shopper can also be armed with various weapons such as the shopping cart, the shopping basket, bags (sometimes faux-filled) from previous exploits and conquests. Even items from said shopping cart and/or basket can be used against others so long as the items are inconsequential to spreading Greedmas joy. Beware.

enjoy your Greedmas(tm) shopping People(tm)!

Which mythical creature resides in your soul?

dragon
DRAGON

You are the dragon. A dragon,
in western lore, is a giant lizard with wings.
It usually has the capability to breathe fire.
The dragon symbolizes immense power, physical
strength, and courage. The dragon has also been
a symbol of wisdom and of protection. Dragons
may also appear to be greedy as many a tale
depict them as keepers of vast hordes of
treasure.

The Three Question Personality Test

Your Personality Is

Rational (NT)

You are both logical and creative. You are full of ideas.
You are so rational that you analyze everything. This drives people a little crazy!

Intelligence is important to you. You always like to be around smart people.
In fact, you're often a little short with people who don't impress you mentally.

You seem distant to some - but it's usually because you're deep in thought.
Those who understand you best are fellow Rationals.

In love, you tend to approach things with logic. You seek a compatible mate - who is also very intelligent.

At work, you tend to gravitate toward idea building careers - like programming, medicine, or academia.

With others, you are very honest and direct. People often can't take your criticism well.

As far as your looks go, you're coasting on what you were born with. You think fashion is silly.

On weekends, you spend most of your time thinking, experimenting with new ideas, or learning new things.

What Kind of Seducer Are You? (so i lied)

Your Seduction Style: Au Natural

You rank up there with your seduction skills, though you might not know it.
That's because you're a natural at seduction. You don't realize your power!
The root of your natural seduction power: your innocence and optimism.

You're the type of person who happily plays around and creates a unique little world.
Little do you know that your personal paradise is so appealing that it sucks people in.
You find joy in everything - so is it any surprise that people find joy in you?

You bring back the inner child in everyone you meet with your sincere and spontaneous ways.
Your childlike (but not childish) behavior also inspires others to care for you.
As a result, those who you befriend and date tend to be incredibly loyal to you.

How Boyish or Girlish Are You? (last one)

You Are 70% Boyish and 30% Girlish

You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.

If Your Life Was a Movie, What Genre Would It Be?

The Movie Of Your Life Is An Indie Flick

You do things your own way - and it's made for colorful times.
Your life hasn't turned out how anyone expected, thank goodness!

Your best movie matches: Clerks, Garden State, Napoleon Dynamite

My Brain's Pattern

Your Brain's Pattern

Your mind is a creative hotbed of artistic talent.
You're always making pictures in your mind, especially when you're bored.
You are easily inspired to think colorful, interesting thoughts.
And although it may be hard to express these thoughts, it won't always be.

plugged in

I'm always 'plugged in'. On the bus, on the train, walking to work, walking home from work, in the elevator, at my desk. I'm always plugged in. And it irritates the snot out of me when my down-time gets interrupted with small-talk. "Hi" *long pause waiting my dull-witted response of "Hi". Mmmk. Pleasantries aside. What the $#@* made you think I wanted to say hello? And then I realize the irony of the situation that I find myself. My annoyance with People™ is the exact same disease that plagues the rest of society. Things like road-rage are just a symptom of a growing problem.

I'm aware that the world functions on a counterfeit sense of etiquette. We say "Hello, how are you?" and we really couldn't give a &*#(), could we? People often smile at strangers, say things like "Oh, it was lovely to see you" and all we wish would happen would be for a giant octopus to come out of the sewer and whisk us off to a better world, don't we? The more attention I pay to the world around me the more I am bothered by its posthumous impression. I'm also aware that deep down people care about the ones closest to them. I know that when it comes down to it, these cookie-cutter people that surround me really believe they are living a life that is worth living. I know that within their sphere of influence they are indeed someone of consequence to someone else. Well, most people are. The 98% of People™ that I think are completely unaware of Life™ also think that I am part of the 98% that is unaware. THAT is vicious irony.

I was speaking with a friend the other day, relaying to her my thoughts on globalization. How, the world has become so connected with technology and industry and how it was to have made us more connected to one another yet it has disconnected us in the process. Globalization has turned the world on and the humans off. We're more content to plug into our mp3 players, televisions and computers than to interact with one another. What has opened the world to so many possibilities for knowledge and experience is exactly what is shutting down the utter curiosity we had to seek out such things in the first place. We're starting to cut off all that is human in the human race. We're annoyed at our fellow man. The way they drive, how they smell, the way they sound, the values they have, the values they impose, the way they breathe.

I'm just as guilty. I enjoy the time that I spend with myself. Listening to music. Or I enjoy the time I spend with loved ones close by or across the world. But the stench of humanity that is outside my door is what I cannot stand. How am I to break from this? And being fully aware of the situation, do I want to break from this? Probably not. Is it that I'm just to damn lazy to change what it is that I do; have grown up doing? Probably. What is it that I think the 2% of the world should do to change what it is that is happening. It is most likely too late to stop the momentum of decay in our society.

Maybe I'm the 1% that doesn't know they are part of the 98%.

For Ann...

My friend Ann's dad just passed away. I can't imagine what she must be going through at this moment, it has to be so difficult. I admire her. She's so strong and so independent and just an amazing person. My thoughts are going out to her and her family. Positive thoughts and thoughts filled with sympathy too. I love you, Ann.

what higher-level being would you be?

oh!! don't you just LURVE quizzes... *snork*

vampire
..:::VAMPIRE:::...
If you were a higher-being with powers, you would be
a vampire! You're cool. You like to let people
know that you are cool, but you do it by
staying in the shadows. Confusing? Not to you.
You can lurk, and leave just enough evidence
that you were there so that people know who you
are and they fear you. Thats what you thrive
on: the fear of those around you. But don't let
it go to your head- there are plenty of wooden
stakes in this world and plenty of pissed off
slayers!!

Crave

Knowledge and understanding. Beer. Patience. Those little mini cinnamon buns with lots of sticky goodness. Excitement. Travel and adventure. New sights for my eyes and places I've never been. Life. Coffee with Baileys. Snow. Pasta with alfredo sauce or chicken scampi and breadsticks; the olive garden. Friends (with some fava beans and a bottle of chianti). Laughter. Wayyyyy too much Halloween candy. Restful sleeps and relaxing weekends with NOTHING on the agenda. Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Music. Snogs. Hugs. Silence with momentary lapses of chaos and confusion. To be seen and to be heard. The smell of a rain in a forest, musty and yet still fresh. Sex! (In the rainy forest!!)
